Wondering where to eat in Siem Reap, Cambodia?
Siem Reap, Cambodia is best known for Angkor Wat, the oldest and largest religious monument in the world. What many travelers don’t know is that Cambodian food is a highly underrated cuisine in Southeast Asia, and Siem Reap is one of the best places to try it! Thankfully, we’re here to help you figure out where to eat in Siem Reap so you don’t miss out.
We’ve visited Siem Reap countless times over the past ten years (most recently in 2019), and in our opinion, these are the best places to eat in Siem Reap for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some have already made it onto world famous lists for the best restaurants in Siem Reap, while others are still under the radar and are definitely worth trying!
A few of these Siem Reap restaurants we’ve mentioned are also social enterprises. That means when you dine at these restaurants your money will not only make your belly happy but will also benefit the local community.
We’ve also included a few of our favorite Siem Reap bars and a cooking class.
Click the name of the restaurant to view their website or Facebook page. All photos are our own!
Don’t leave Cambodia until you’ve tried at least a few of these places. Happy eating!

The Hive
We found The Hive during our visit to Siem Reap in March 2019. We needed a good space to work from, and unfortunately, The Little Red Fox Espresso was closed that day. Thankfully, The Hive is located just around the corner and turned out to be a great breakfast spot with tasty and healthy food, homemade baked goods, strong coffee, and delicious juices. This is not a place to find Cambodian food, but if you’re looking for a spot to work from with good Wifi and nourishing food, The Hive will fit the bill.

Pou Restaurant and Bar
After hearing about Pou Restaurant from several friends, we knew we had to try it. Wow, are we glad we did! Located in a cozy and beautifully decorated wooden home about a 5-minute walk from the Old Market, Pou exceeded our expectations.
Chef Pou has put together a fabulous menu of elevated village style Khmer cuisine with exquisite presentations. Our main courses came on oversized plates decorated with colorful sauces, edible flowers, and some of the most unique presentations of Cambodian food we’ve seen. They had vegetarian options on the menu as well, which can be hard to come by at local restaurants in Cambodia.
There is a great drink menu and some large jugs behind the bar full of herb-infused local wines. We weren’t brave enough to try them, but if you do please let us know how it goes!
Prices at Pou are very reasonable, especially considering the creativity and quality of the ingredients. We arrived early in the evening and were able to get a table, but the restaurant filled up quickly! We recommend calling ahead to book a table so you don’t miss out.

Bars in Siem Reap
We’re not going to be Captain Obvious and tell you to go to Pub Street, Siem Reap’s second most famous place to go after the temples. You definitely should check out Pub Street, at least for the spectacle. But to be honest, the crowds and blaring music aren’t really our scene. If you’re like us and prefer a more mellow ambiance where you can have a conversation without shouting, then you’ll probably like these Siem Reap bars.
WILD Creative Bar and Eatery
WILD is one of the cutest, coolest, most hipster bars in Cambodia we’ve ever seen. The decor is seriously dreamy! They’ve got a huge, colorful mural, soft lights strung across their lawn, and stepping stones leading into the bar.
You can choose to sit inside or plop down at a low table on the grass. There is even a table high up in a tree!
WILD serves deliciously crafted cocktails, beers, and a light tapas menu with items that are perfect for sharing. You’ll definitely want to call ahead to book a table as seating is limited and this place fills up quickly, especially on weekends!
The Local Brewpub
If you’re into trying local craft beers when you travel, head straight over to The Local in Siem Reap. They serve several beers on tap from their own small-batch brewery as well a rotating selection from other local Cambodia brewers.
This place is busy pretty much every night of the week but especially on weekends. If you’re looking to meet some local Siem Reap expats, this is definitely a good place to go.
Unfortunately, we don’t have a picture of this place. It’s a no-frills bar, but if you like a great beer and a good chat with friendly people then you’ll love The Local.

I’m glad to have stumbled upon your Cambodia food guide. As one who has never been in Asia (but want to see it badly!) I always wondered if I’d like the food there. My tastes are quite limited and I generally tend to dislike what I never tried before, but after reading your post I think I’ll love Cambodian food. Since Angkor is very high up on my list, I’ll make sure to bookmark your post for places to eat in Siem Reap. The food seems pretty inexpensive too.
Jennifer Joslin says
Thanks for your comment, Anda! There are lots of great food options in Siem Reap to suit any traveler’s tastes. After our most recent trip to Siem Reap we’ve got a few more great places to add to the list. Let us know how you like the food once you visit!

Thanks for providing a great starter guide to where to eat if we visit Siem Reap. It looks like you had no problem finding fresh tasty food at good prices. We are always looking for good local coffee spots so would definitely hit up the Little Red Fox Espresso shop. Love how SE Asia does such great coffee art! A cooking class is always a fun thing to do when travelling!

Who would have thought that there would be so many amazing dining options around Siem Reap. Love the sound of Cuisine Wat Damnak but I love the sound of Marum even more. Gorgeous food in the setting of a gorgeous old wooden home, blissful!
Ami Bhat says
From what I can see, their food seems quite similar to Indian dishes, especially that breakfast dish. If I ever visit here, local veg food would be my first preference and given its similarity, I might just enjoy it all. Cheers

Thanks for highlighting the places to eat in Siem Reap! Cuisine Wat Damnak will be on my list if we go to Cambodia. Cooking classes sound interesting too as I’m always interested in learning to make foreign cuisine!

I just came from Siem Reap (well, about a month ago now) but I unfortunately didn’t eat at any of these places! Next time I’ll definitely go to Little Red Fox Espresso! We loved getting our Western fix at Cafe Latino.

How nice to be able to travel to Siem Reap so many times. $7 all you can eat breakfast doesn’t sound bad at all, especially when you have so many choices. Besides, there seem to be a lot of good places to eat there. I’d love to visit Cambodia too someday.
Kate says
These restaurants all look really wonderful. I particularly like that you mentioned restaurants which support social enterprise, particularly Spoons. It reminds me of a very similar organisation in Vietnam called KOTO which trains up street kids to be in the hospitality industry. I love that you can visit a restaurant and eat delicious food while knowing that you are supporting an organisation that is promoting development in the community.

Little Red Fox Espresso looks so cute! I’m always looking for a nice coffee place. Do you know if they had any plant-based milks there like almond or soy milk? Food is such a big part of travel so it’s great when you can find so many awesome spots!
Jennifer Joslin says
They definitely do! You can also check out Vibe, a 100% plant based cafe, located close to Little Red Fox Espresso. http://www.vibecafeasia.com/delicious food.

First of all…you are so lucky to have been to Siem Reap so many times! I’ve been to Cambodia once, but missed out on Siem Reap 🙁
Since I am a vegetarian, I wonder if there are vegan or vegetarians as well there? Would love some recommendations for those also 🙂

Nice selection of places to eat in Siem Reap. I specially liked the decor and ambience of ‘Spoons’. While selecting a place for a meal, the food is important, but the setting is equally important for me. I would enjoy having a meal here.

THE important question haha. We remember all these happy pizza joints, quite interesting. Would love to go back and visit Angkor wat again!
